A very long essay for this month’s newsletter. And this was a shortened draft. I’m always deep in my thoughts and it feels like there’s something new to stress about every single day lately. I guess there hasn’t ever been a period of human history that hasn’t been filled with awfulness, but it sure is exhausting!
Other than stressing about the state of the world, we’ve been busy getting ready for the Spring Fashion Weekend, which is part of the Pike/Pine Social! We’re hosting a pop up photoshoot here in the store on Saturday, May 16th with a backdrop painted by me, props by Ruby Bender from Studio Arby, and photos taken by Deli Studios! For $20 you’ll receive three professionally edited photos (emailed to you after the event). It’s been a lot of fun working on something new and on a large scale project.
There’s also a runway show going on here in the alley that day at 3:00 and lots of other events going on throughout the neighborhood. And our friend Shelby from Well Worn Ink will be back on Sunday, May 17 doing hand-poked tattoos, so be sure to stop by that weekend for some fun!
We’re also welcoming two new makers to the store for pop ups/events this month: Sarah from Sun Bunny Studio will be popping up during art walk on the 14th and is hosting an Intro to Hand Brooms workshop on May 23! And local ceramicist and art and science educator Molly will be popping up on May 30!
