These shorts are made of lightweight woven cotton and do not stretch. They are also sewn with cotton thread, which is biodegradable, but has no inherent stretch (unlike synthetic threads). Please check the measurements carefully to ensure a good fit - you'll want the max waist measurement to be able to pull up over your hips. Typically for elastic waist garments, you want the waist measurement to be about 2” smaller than your waist so that the garment stays up.
Any vintage materials used (grosgrain ribbon, rickrack trim, fabric) is deadstock and is between 30-50+ years old. It has been prewashed and checked for any major issues.
